08:00 - Pick up from your Moshi/Arusha hotel. Drive approximately 1.5 hours through rural Tanzania passing small villages and farmland with views of Kilimanjaro on clear days. 09:30 - Arrive at Chemka Hot Springs (also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs), a hidden gem and one of Tanzania's best-kept secrets. The crystal-clear turquoise waters are fed by underground streams from Kilimanjaro, maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round. 10:00 - Swimming and relaxation begins. The spring is surrounded by beautiful fig trees and palm trees creating a tropical paradise atmosphere. The water is incredibly clear - you can see small fish swimming around and the bottom up to 10 meters deep in places. The color ranges from bright turquoise to deep blue. Perfect for swimming, floating, and cooling off from Tanzania's heat. 11:00 - Explore the surrounding area. Rope swings allow you to swing out and splash into the water - fun for all ages. The spring forms a circular pool about 50 meters in diameter. There are shallow areas for non-swimmers and deeper sections for diving and swimming. 12:30 - Picnic lunch under the shade of fig trees beside the spring.
